The inception of the Mandanici oil mill dates back to the 1950s, when three visionary brothers – Andrea, Giuseppe and Domenico Mandanici – founded the establishment with the intent of providing a streamlined facility for the olive growers in their hometown to process their harvested olives.
Throughout its journey, the oil mill has undergone significant transformations in machinery, location and management. Leadership has been carefully passed down through generations, with the founders' children and grandchildren guiding its ongoing evolution.
A pivotal shift took place in 1987, when the traditional press machinery was replaced by a more advanced continuous cycle system.
The most transformative change, however, occurred in 2018, when the company successfully secured financing through the European tender PO FESR 2014/2020 Axis 3 – Action 3.5.1_01, 'Aid for Start-up Businesses.'
This milestone enabled the creation of a modern, innovative enterprise. It marked the beginning of a new chapter, blending tradition with cutting-edge technology to enhance production and sustainability.
The Mandanici oil mill is currently managed by Antonio Mandanici and his children, Giuseppe and Natalía.
With an age of experience, Antonio is an expert in olive pressing and has witnessed the historical development of olive oil extraction techniques.
For years, Antonio’s expertise and deep knowledge of olive pressing sparked frequent calls for him to share more with the world.
In 2023, he answered, taking a bold step forward by partaking in a new venture that brings his vision and mastery to life.
After 70 years dedicated to perfecting the craft of extra virgin olive oil, Antonio, along with Giuseppe, Marco and Yazdaan, founded Castruriali with a mission to become the preeminent provider of authentic, exceptional and pure extra virgin olive oil.
The olive tree has given us so much over the years—sustenance, beauty and life itself.
